Ubuntu Installation

1. Do the installation of Ubuntu as shown in class. The reference notes in the the activity document are a summary of what you will need to do. Here are the important things to remember:
   • The process to start the installation is:
     1. Unlock power switch, turn off power
     2. Change disk in DVD drive to Ubuntu 20
     3. Turn on power and click ‘Start Remote Console’
     4. Lock the power switch (click on the lock)
     5. Do not hit the power switch ever again!
   • Make sure to put the check on “Install OpenSSH Server”!
   • Your username is u600nnnnn where the number is your id number (notice the u!)
   • Your server name is s600nnnnn where the number is your id number (notice the s!)
   • Do not forget your password, the instructors charge 10 points against your lab mark if they have to reset the password for you.
   • After rebooting, log in via HAL9000 and check the ip address of your server (ip addr show if it is not visible).
2. Open a new session to sit.cna-qatar.edu.qa. Write the ssh command to connect to your server. Take a screenshot showing the ssh command the successful login to your server. Yes, this is the only thing to be completed today.
